Foreseeable Futures invests time and energy into each Fellow through CAREER framing, on-the-job training, certification attainment, external events, testing, pre-apprenticeship training, coaching, and connections. We believe these  pillars are critical to the evolution and success of you as an individual, and would like for you to see a noticeable change in your FORESEEABLE FUTURE. There is an entire system working to keep you trapped in debt, poverty and ignorance and our role is to help liberate you from that system. The markers of that system often include the role you play with either misdirection and indecisiveness. It could also include jail, criminal records, family court, unemployment and lack of skill. We believe in you and know that if you are exposed to a different reality, you can be more successful at avoiding pitfalls than you’ve ever been.

 

The Fellowship experience consists of several integral components:

 

Framing:  The majority of our concrete work with the curriculum and building community is done during mandatory in-person sessions taking place in classroom training. Each training will generally begin at 9am and last 4 hours; ending at 1pm. During this time, we will monitor your activity, attendance, assessment results, attentiveness in class and desire for 

 

Praxis/ OJT:  The in-person time is supplemented with hands-on activities through our praxis opportunity. The praxis is where you will learn on the job. The goal of these activities is to aid you in getting a real understanding of working in the construction field.  virtual programming to further differentiate upon the training needs of ventures and leaders.

Certification:  During the program you will have access to several certifications. The OSHA certification will provide basic safety and knowledge of hazards in the construction industry. Some students will have an opportunity for HVAC. All students will be eligible for NCCER Certification training. The NCCER certification serves as your first year prerequisite for apprenticeship. All of our certifications will allow you to advance your income, self worth and opportunity.

External Events:  Every cohort will be invited to several external events. These events will include an external event hosted by Foreseeable Futures for local influencers to build your network of strategic partners. You will be required to dress and present differently than you would normally dress to be invited to these events.

Testing:  During the program, but usually before the program begins, incoming participants will be given a CASAS assessment. 

​

Apprenticeship Placement: The primary purpose of students enrolling in our programming is for students to be able to be introduced to careers in the construction field. Our manifest intent is to only work with students who we believe that we can place into careers; specifically in apprenticeship programs. Our partnerships and activities all seek to accomplish this aim. 

 

Connections:  Foreseeable Futures will curate a series of opportunities for guest speakers and entrepreneurs to visit the program. All participants should be prepared for interacting with prospective guests at all times.

 

Coaching: Fellows receive support through two coaching mechanisms - collective support through a Foreseeable Futures coach and access to individualized coaching based on your interests, and needs.
