FAQ’s 

 

1. Is there a residency requirement?

 Yes, to be eligible to participate  you must be a DC resident. DC residency is verified by a current valid DC ID, as well as other required documentation for DOES approval. 

 

2. What is Foreseeable Futures’ goal?

The goal of Foreseeable Futures is to train, expose and coach individuals who are interested in the construction trades to secure full time, livable wage employment. We aim for apprenticeship placement.

 

3. How do Foreseeable Futures realize their goal?

Foreseeable Futures provides free training to individuals who are interested in the construction trade. 

 

4. How long is the training?

Depending on the skills a participant has, when they enter the program, the training is from six to ten weeks.

 

5. Where is the training held?

While we train at multiple locations, the training address is 2806 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE

Washington D.C. 20020. The old Pepco Building. 


6. How many days a week is the training?

The training is usually three-four days a week. Your specific schedule will be provided when you begin.

 

7. What are the hours of the training?

The training hours are from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

 

8. What days of the week is the training held?

The training is usually held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

 

9. Are stipends issued for participants?

Yes, stipends are issued for participants. The maximum stipend is usually $800 total during the program. This is about $75 per week. Certain infractions could decrease this amount. 


10. How do I enroll?

An interested participant will enroll at www.foreseeablefuturesdc.com.  It is also important to do as much as you can to be prepared by having all required documents, a resume and references. You should also read the flow chart to understand how to enroll. It is a process. 

 

11.What are the eligibility requirements?

If you are a male/man you must be between the ages of 18-24

OR be a veteran (of any age) OR have a verifiable disability.

 

12. Age is not considered if you are: female/woman and/or a veteran and/or have a disability

 

13. What documents are required?

All participants must provide the following documents:

  1. Social Security Card

  2. Valid DC Identification or Driver License

  3. Birth Certificate

  4. Registration in DC Networks

  5. A resume will be required but not required to enroll.
